BIOFILTER Co. is a environmental social company, specialized in bioenergy sector. It was founded in 1990, and for now, has a national collection and international processing network.
The operating principle of bio-energy sector is for ensuring continuous sustainable development, throughout producing alternative energies, which can replace the classical finite fossil fuels and dangerous nuclear power. Energies such as solar, hydro, wind, and the first generation of plant energy use.
Top priority to produce energy from waste and secondary raw materials.The main profile of the company is supplying second-generation bio-energy sector, by providing the complex process of implementation of reverse logistics from the waste collected. The used cooking oil (UCO) collection, procession and import of purified vegetable oils provides raw material supplies for biodiesel plants in Hungary and neighboring countries also.
From HoReCa and FMCG area, we collect expired food and wastes, that not allowed to be marketed, but can be used to produce biogas out of it. In 2011, for expanding our company profile, BIOFILTER started to do complex waste treatment, so by now, our company can collect and process 100% of the organic wastes, and 90% of hazardous wastes.
Our activities also include the sale of fats in animal nutrition, and purified vegetable oils and fats wholesale. We are members – representing Hungary – in an organization, headquartered in Belgium, which brings together EU Member States’ environmental businesses.
Our company is the specialist in this segment, working closely with the Metropolitan Sewerage Works (FCSM), Hungarian Oil and Gas Plc (MOL) and the Association of Environmental Enterprises (KSZGYSZ).
Furthermore BIOFILTER Co. is a wholesaler of recovered cooking oil as well as deal with animal fats for feeding.
BIOFILTER has been named as a finalist and Ruban d’Honneur recipient in the 2015/16 European Business Awards, in the category of Environmental & Corporate Sustainability.
